The Republic of South Korea Air Force has deployed a fleet of indigenously built T-50 ‘Golden Eagle’ supersonic trainer aircraft.

The new aircraft, built by the Korea Aerospace Industries, has been designed to provide pilot training for existing and new-generation fighter aircraft such as the F-16, F22 and Joint Strike Fighter.

The single-engine supersonic jet trainer is capable of carrying a 20mm gun and rocket pods plus air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles. It can also carry electronic warfare pods as well as a radar warning receiver.
