The Argentine Air Force (AAF) has awarded an initial contract to Nostromo Defensa to design and produce three Yarara unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

The Yarara UAV is a small system for ISR and UAV training missions and is equipped with EO sensors and GPS/INS avionics for fully autonomous capability.

The system provides aerial observation, day or night, at line-of-sight ranges up to 50km and delivers real-time or infrared imagery to the ground control and remote viewing stations.

The three UAVs will be used by the AAF as trainers for their new UAV school, which will be operating in the Cordoba AAF base.

Work on the UAV will be performed in Cordoba, Argentina, with deliveries to begin by May 2011.
