CCP Gransden is the first Northern Irish company to have been accepted onto the programme.
Director of Sales Mr Stephen Gallagher said: “Being approved for the SC21 Competitiveness and Growth Programme is a significant milestone. I’m proud of the entire team for reaching this important step as part of our supply chain excellence journey. This programme will complement our existing accreditation and ensure our proven track record as dependable manufacturers of specialist advanced composite solutions is upheld,”
The SC21 Competitiveness and Growth Programme uses £10m of government funding to engage with a selection of companies for over three years. The funding is used to support improvement activities in the aerospace supply chain through training, coaching and mentoring.
The SC21 Competitiveness and Growth Programme uses the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Level (NMCL) System. The system has been developed by a UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space Group (ADS) and Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT)-led consortium, supported by industry primes and OEMs. The NMCL system has established a national, quality-assured, best practice approach to improving the competitiveness of manufacturing supply chain companies to raise workforce capability, increase productivity, boost UK economic growth and increase export levels.
The key success measures for the SC21 Competitiveness and Growth Programme are established by ADS UK as:
- Increased firm-level labour productivity
- Increased firm-level GVA and profitability
- Increased firm-level competitiveness
- Business retained due to implementation of the improvement plan
- Business generated due to implementation of the implementation plan
- Jobs safeguarded and created
