Turkey-based Aydin Yazilim ve Elektronik San (Ayesas) and ViaSat have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for tactical data link (TDL) products and services.

As part of the MoU, both the companies will jointly explore in identifying TDL products and services opportunities in Turkey and overseas markets. Specifically, they will focus on manufacturing of components, software and hardware development and testing, and maintenance and repair services.

Ayesas general manager Aziz Sipahi said: "With the signing of the MoU, Ayesas and ViaSat are building a strong synergy that will focus on providing TTDL products and services to joint and coalition forces.

ViaSat tactical data links general manager Dr Jay Kaufman said: "With TDL software expertise provided by Ayesas and ViaSat’s experience providing Link 16 communication systems, we can help military personnel exchange real-time situational awareness information and voice communications across the battlefield."

AYESAS is a TDL software supplier to the Turkish Armed Forces for ATDL-1, Link-1, Link-11/B and Link 16 requirements. It also provides advanced electronics and electro-mechanical assembly supplier for major global aerospace and defence companies.
