Indonesia is considering the South Korean T-50 Golden Eagle trainer jet as the potential option to replace the air force’s Hawk mk53 planes, which will be decommissioned in 2011.

Air Force commander Marshall Imam Syafaat told the Xinhua News Agency that the government was considering the T-50, the Yakovlev Yak 130 and Czechoslovakia’s Aero L159 Alca.

South Korea’s fourth-generation plane, T-50 Golden Eagle will be fitted with more sophisticated instruments that are not found in the Czech planes.
