The helicopter hit the ground after veering off course while flying in formation with two other helicopters over an air force base near Quito.

The helicopter is one of the seven Dhruvs bought by the country from India’s Hindustan Aeronautics in a $50m deal, according to the Times of India.
The fleet will be grounded until the probe into the mishap is complete. A HAL team is stationed in Ecuador and is participating in the probe.
