Columbian Air Force Receives Upgraded Kfir Fighter Jets

22 June 2009

The Columbian Air Force has received the first batch of upgraded Kfir fighter jets from Israel Aerospace Industries.

The delivery is a part of a deal worth more than $150m to upgrade the Columbian Air Force's existing Kfir jets and to supply additional units.

The fighter jets have been upgraded with new technologies to increase their capabilities and provide longer operational service to the air force.

The Kfir, a multirole, all-weather combat jet has high carrying capabilities of air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions.

Sri Lanka and Ecuador also deploy the Kfir in their air force operations.
