Indonesia will receive the last of six Su fighter jets from Russia on 17 and 19 September 2010 as part of a $300m contract signed in 2007.

Russia will deliver three Su-30MK2 and three Su-27SKM fighters to Indonesia by the end of 2010, as well as two Su-27SK and two Su-30MK fighters purchased in 2003.

Russia will use an An-124 transport plane to deliver two Su-27SKM aircraft to the air base in the city of Makassar, Indonesia.

The remaining Su-27SKM fighter jet will be delivered to the same base five days later, according to RIA Novosti.

Indonesia needs at least one squadron equipped with 16 Sukhoi fighters to replace part of its outdated fleet of US F-16 fighters.
