General Dynamics Information Technology has secured a five-year contract to support communication systems for the US Air Force in Asia.
The contract has a potential value of $450m, if all options are exercised.
General Dynamics will provide acquisition, installation, operations and maintenance support of communications for the US Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT).
The work will be undertaken at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, and USAFCENT deployment locations across Southwest and Central Asia.
More than 200 employees are expected to be hired to support the contract.
General Dynamics delivered enterprise communications systems, services and logistical support to USAFCENT’s combined air and space operations centre for over 10 years.
General Dynamics Information Technology IT services and solutions sector vice-president and general manager Dan Busby said: "General Dynamics will continue providing the US Air Force Central Command with mission-essential communications and IT support services throughout the Persian Gulf region and in Central Asia."
USAFCENT is responsible for air operations of the US Central Command, either unilaterally or in concert with coalition partners, in the Southwest Asia.
It also manages a supply and equipment prepositioning programme at various sites.
Earlier this month, General Dynamics Information Technology won a contract to support the US Air Force Air Defense Communications Service 3 programme
The company is offering single system management, maintenance, lifecycle and logistics support of the existing communications systems and subsystems used in North American Aerospace Defense Command and Pacific Air Forces Air Defense missions.
It will also provide communications to allow sustained command and control for air defence.
