Communications and Power Industries (CPI) Malibu Division has received a production contract worth more than $3.5m to deliver advanced antenna products.
Malibu Division will supply antenna products, including dual-axis Ku-band ground and airborne data links, for a mid-altitude long endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platform.
These advanced antenna products will be used to support long-range intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions conducted by Nato countries.
CPI Malibu Division president Steve Lonngren said: "CPI Malibu Division has been working with leading UAV manufacturers, the US military and allied militaries for many years, providing reliable, mission-critical advanced antenna products to protect personnel and assets.
"Our advanced antenna products have been proven in the field, enabling domestic and foreign customers to rely on CPI Malibu Division as a dependable partner for their ISR needs."
The data link antennas and ground data terminals are significant elements of a UAV’s ISR systems.
The systems are capable of transmitting data and images from the UAV to the ground-based mission control, as well as transmitting command and control data from ground-based units to the UAV.
The combination of CPI Malibu Division’s ground data terminals, which feature high-precision auto-tracking capabilities, and its airborne advanced data link antennas, will offer a quickly and easily deployable solution to improve situational awareness in the field.
Work for this contract will be performed in Camarillo, California, US.
