The US Air Force has selected Raytheon as one of the prime contractors on the $20.9bn training systems acquisition III (TSA III) contract.

Raytheon will now be able to bid on delivery orders under this ten-year multiple award, indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity contract.

The company will compete to offer lifecycle management for aircrew, maintenance and systems-specific training systems on a global basis.

"We are more than ready to support the US Air Force to maintain mission readiness when and wherever needed."

Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services president Dave Wajsgras said: "We are more than ready to support the US Air Force to maintain mission readiness when and wherever needed.

"This is a perfect opportunity for us to build on Raytheon’s exemplary record of cost-effective, best-in-class training services."

For lifecycle activities and services management information system (ATLAS MIS), Raytheon has developed the automated toolset that enables real-time management oversight in the areas of finance, property and training device sustainment.

With its 200,000ft² lifecycle support, maintenance and sustainment facility, Warfighter Support Center, Raytheon will be able to transport training device spare and repair parts within hours to US and in days to anywhere in the world.

In addition, the company’s Warfighter FOCUS Customer Support Operations Center (CSOC) in Orlando, US, monitors training sustainment activities around the clock and responds immediately to trainer requests and needs.

Recently, the USAF selected Cubic Global Defense (CGD) to compete for the TSA III contract.

The Cubic team for the project will be led by the Cubic Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) location, in collaboration with divisions across CGD’s Centers of Excellence.
