American Systems receives NetCents-2 contract for USAF

IT solutions provider American Systems has received a Network Centric Solutions 2 (NetCents-2) network operations and infrastructure small business contract from the US Air Force (USAF).

IT solutions provider American Systems has received a Network Centric Solutions 2 (NetCents-2) network operations and infrastructure small business contract from the US Air Force (USAF).

The seven-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle, NetCents-2, features a combined ceiling for all awarded contracts of $5.8bn.

The other companies that have been awarded slots in the contract include Abacus Technology, Atlantic CommTech, BTAS, CDO Technologies, Centech Group, EPS, Epsilon Systems, Indus, Intelligent Decisions, MicroTechnologies, Smartronix, SMS Data Products, STG, Sumaria Systems, Technica, and Telos,

These seventeen firms will provide IT services, including network management and defence, services-oriented architecture infrastructure, enterprise-level security and management and implementation and operations, telephony infrastructure and other services.

"We are proud to be able to continue our support of the Armed Forces in these critical areas."

With this development, American Systems can now compete with 16 other contractors for task orders to deliver solutions to support network operations, core enterprise services and infrastructure development and operations to the USAF and Department of Defense agencies.

American Systems CEO Peter Smith said: "Our track record of success with defence programmes makes American Systems uniquely qualified to ensure the air force and other DoD customers receive the highest quality services in support of their mission.

"We are proud to be able to continue our support of the Armed Forces in these critical areas."

The Netcents-2 contracts provide the air force with a primary source of netcentric and IT products, services, and solutions.

This programme aims to assist the USAF and other agencies to minimise risk and costs associated with reliability, maintainability, interoperability, security, information assurance, systems and engineering of net-centric operations.
