The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress of a $342.6m potential foreign military sale of C-17 logistics support services and equipment to Kuwait.

Kuwait seeks to receive follow-on support of two C-17 aircraft for three years, with an option for two additional years. The current FMS contract supporting Kuwait’s C-17s expired in September.

The support will include participation in the Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP), contract logistic support, Class I modifications and kits support, in-country contractor assistance, and alternate mission equipment. It will also comprise major modification and retrofit, software and technical support, as well as aircraft maintenance

The sale covers support equipment, personnel training and equipment, as well as additional spare and repair parts.

The Government of Kuwait requested technical orders and publications, airworthiness certification support, engine spares, engine maintenance and logistics support, as well as inspections support. The contract also includes on-site COMSEC support, Quality Assurance, in addition to other US Government and contractor engineering, logistics, and programme support.
