The German Air Force has taken delivery of the first four Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft in its Jagdbombergeschwader 31 Boelcke air wing, for using it in air-to-ground operations.
Developed to meet the collective military requirements of the partner nations, the Eurofighter Typhoon is a highly agile air superiority and air-to-surface, multi-role/swing-role weapon system.
The plane is in service with six national air forces including Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, Austria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The swing-role enables the Typhoon aircraft to perform a number of different roles with ease and precision.
The JaboG 31 Boelcke is the first Luftwaffe unit and the third German Air Force Squadron to use the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
