Rheinmetall Electronics (Rheinmetall) offers extensive simulation and training solutions for the air force industry.
We participate in many European multinational flight training programmes for vessels such as the NH-90 transport helicopter, Tiger attack helicopter, Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft and A400M transport aircraft. Training solutions include computer-based training, part-task and system trainers for cockpit procedures, cargo hold and maintenance trainers, as well as full mission simulators.
Rheinmetall provides innovative simulation technologies that offer accurate real world simulations.
As one of Europe’s most trusted suppliers of training systems and equipment for Armed Forces, we offer full mission simulators, cockpit procedure trainers, flight navigation procedure trainers, e-learning and training management, in addition to information systems for state-of-the-art flight training.
We have also developed simulation solutions for Eurofighter (Typhoon), MiG-29, Tornado, A400M, A320, AS532, Bell212, Bell412, EC135, EC145, EC635, NH90, Tiger HAP/HAD and UH Tiger.
Rheinmetall provides the latest rear crew training aids for air transport platforms and offers Load Master Work Station Trainer (LMWST) and Cargo Hold Trainers (CHT) for transport aircraft.
The LMWST is a training platform for imparting theoretical and procedural aspects that cannot be covered to a suitable standard or conclusion during flight training such as aerial delivery and emergency procedures. The instructor is able to create, edit and direct an array of training scenarios, as well as control the entire simulation.
The CHT provides a realistic full-size replica of the rear fuselage with a fully operational cargo hold compartment, including loadmaster controls and a cargo handling system floor. The system provides practical training for all ground operations and selected flight scenarios without the need to use valuable aircraft operating hours.
Major training objectives include role changes, load preparation, loading and offloading, execution of on-ground and in-flight procedures, multi-crew cooperation and crew resource management skills.
Rheinmetall’s modular ASTERION training system allows practical and standardised training for both maintenance and air crew personnel.
The solution is an integrated, holistic training concept for all training phases to combine computer-based training with embedded virtual simulation.
It supports a wide range of training, including computer-based training, computer-aided instruction, virtual maintenance, cockpit procedure, cargo part-task and flight navigation procedures. It can be operated in many different variants, including individual PCs, tablet computers, networked classrooms or be connected to a cockpit with soft panel or hardware replica instruments.
For more than 40 years, Rheinmetall has grown together with its customers unrivalled capabilities in simulation and training systems and services covering a broad range of air force training solutions.
We provide a wide variety of services to enhance training and ensure military readiness, including threat replication (opposing force), electronic warfare training, air-to-ground attack, target tow, and ground control interceptor (GCI) training, as well as research and development.
Depending on time and budget, Rheinmetall provides original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and generic non-OEM solutions, which incorporate sophisticated and demanding technology implemented in current state-of-the-art aircraft systems such as fly-by-wire controls, extended autopilot capabilities, current sensor technology and fully equipped glass cockpits.
