Selex Galileo has received a contract, worth £200m ($317m), to supply an additional 88 Captor radar systems for the Eurofighter Typhoon tranche 3A programme.

The Captor mechanically scanned (M-Scan) radar is currently used as the primary sensor on the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.

Selex will manufacture Captor radars at its facilities in Italy, Germany, Spain and the UK, with delivery beginning in 2012.

The company has delivered 400 Captor M-Scan radars for the Typhoon programme to date.
