UAE Air Force Orders Upgraded Alenia MB-339 Aircraft

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force has ordered ten MB-339A aircraft that have been upgraded to aerobatic configuration from Alenia Aermacchi.

Under the contract, Alenia will upgrade and supply MB-339A aircraft to the National Aerobatic Team (NAT).

Alenia will remove the tip tanks, modify the fuel system and install smoke generators capable of releasing smoke trails in the white, red, green and black colours of the UAE flag.

The MB-339, a fully aerobatic, tandem two-seat, single-turbojet advanced trainer covers entire advanced training syllabus, including lead-in fighter training.
