The US Air Force will deploy its F-22A Raptors at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, and Kadena Air Base, Japan, for training by the end of May 2010 .

During the four months of training, 12 F-22As from Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, will be deployed to Kadena and 12 will be deployed from Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, to Andersen.

Nearly 250 airmen will accompany the Raptors to each location for the training.

It will be the first time that F-22s from Holloman Base have been deployed to the Western Pacific to train in a forward location.

The F-22A aircraft can avoid enemy detection and cruise at supersonic speeds. It is highly manoeuvrable and will provide the joint forces with integrated situational awareness.
