The Indian Air Force has conducted two flight trials of laser-guided bombs, in an effort to test the effectiveness of the weapon’s guidance and control systems.

The laser-guided bomb’s guidance kit, designed to improve the IAF’s accuracy of air-to-ground bombing, has been developed by Aeronautics Development Establishment (ADE), Bangalore.

The weapon is designed to find the target and hit it with high accuracy and reliability.

During the trial, conducted at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, IAF officers flew the aircraft and released the bombs as per prescribed standard operating procedures.

During both the tests, the on-board systems worked satisfactorily, meeting the mission objectives.
