Iraqi Air Force Receives AC-208 Combat Aircraft

The Iraqi Air Force has taken delivery of the third AC-208B Combat Caravan aircraft from Alliant Techsystems at the Iraq training and advisory mission in Kirkuk, Iraq.

A modified Cessna Grand Caravan, the AC-208B aircraft incorporates an electro-optical targeting system with integrated laser designator for reconnaissance.

The combat aircraft is also equipped with Hellfire laser-guided missiles, an air-to-ground and air-to-air data link and aircraft self-protection equipment for ground attack capability.

ATK has delivered 11 modified C-208 aircraft including three reconnaissance aircraft, five trainer aircraft and three AC-208B aircraft in support of US Government contracts for rebuilding the Iraqi Air Force.
