Raytheon Looks to Win F-16 Radar Contracts

12 November 2009

Raytheon looks to win two international contracts for its Raytheon Advanced Combat Radar (RACR) after approval to move forward with technical discussions with potential customers.

Two countries are looking to upgrade their F-16 fleets within the next two years to keep their force structure at par with today's battlespace.

The RACR, currently being developed, has completed a series of validation tests to demonstrate various radar capabilities in air-to-air and air-to-ground modes and the integration with Raytheon's F-16 centre pedestal display.

The programme is scheduled to fly production hardware on an F-16 during the first half of 2010.
