USAF Europe Receives Another C-130J Aircraft

11 November 2009

The USAF Europe and Africa Command has received the seventh of 14 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft from Lockheed Martin at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

The C-130Js are used in high-tempo operations in multiple combat theatres and in support of peacekeeping and humanitarian missions.

The new aircraft is flexible and part of the longer C-130J-30 configuration, which is the current standard for recapitalising the USAF and many other air forces around the world.

The C-130J will support the Ramstein-based 37th Airlift Squadron that has been flying C-130Es.

Lockheed will deliver ten C-130Js to the air force this year, with four more scheduled for delivery in 2010.
