USAF Awards Radar Warning System Contract to Raytheon

22 October 2009

The US Air Force has awarded a $19.8m contract to Raytheon to continue production of ALR-69A (V) radar warning receiver systems.

The ALR-69A(V) system features enhanced situational awareness, improved air-crew survivability, and a solution to parts-obsolescence issues with existing systems.

The RWR digital technology of the system permits future programming of advanced tactical targeting techniques for rapid and accurate multiplatform geolocation of threats, and easy reprogramming to keep pace with emerging threats.

The fabrication and testing of 34 all-digital receivers under the ALR-69A (V) low-rate initial production programme will be done by Raytheon's space and airborne systems business.

Deliveries to the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia are expected to begin in March 2011 and end in June 2012.
