The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) has awarded a contract to Euravia Engineering for the repair and overhaul of PT6A-25C engines powering its Pilatus PC-7 aircraft fleet.
The Pilatus PC-7 is a low-wing, all-metal monoplane derived from the P_3 version that has a speed of 415kmph and is used by RNLAF for training of fighter pilots at the Elementary Flight School (Elementaire Vlieger Opleiding).
The PT6A-25C turboprop engine installed on the fleet provides 750 shaft horsepower at 2200RPM to the trainers.
The five-year engine services deal forms part of the extended time and material repair and overhaul contract previously awarded to Euravia for three years.
Euravia Customer Services director Steve Clarkson said that for the first time, the contract has also been awarded to include engines, hot section inspections and accessories.
