The US Air Force has received the first weapon system trainer for use in the C-130 avionics modernisation programme (AMP) from Boeing.
The training simulator is a full-motion, simulator to train air force crews to fly the AMP-modified aircraft in an operational environment.
Boeing will deliver a suite of trainers over the next few years to support the AMP training programme at US Little Rock Air Force base.
Each system in the suite will offer a different level of instruction to provide training in the new capabilities that will be installed on the modernised C-130.
The C-130 trainer uses the same software as the C-130 AMP aircraft enabling the air force to upgrade or modify the simulator to keep pace with the aircraft.
