The Indian and US Air Forces will hold a joint air exercise in October involving transport aircraft and helicopters from both nations.

'Exercise Cope-India' will be held in Indian air bases at Agra and Chandigarh, which are also two major hubs for transport aircraft for the IAF.

The USAF is expected to employ its C-17 Globemaster heavy-lift aircraft and C-130J Hercules medium-lift transport aircraft and Chinook heavy-lift choppers at the exercise, while India will deploy its transport fleet of IL-76, An-32 aircraft, Mi-17s and Mi-8s.

The exercise will also involve air drops involving personnel from both Indian and US special forces.
