US Air Force Awards $53m Fuze Contract Modification to Kaman

03 July 2009

The US Air Force has awarded a $53m contract modification to aerospace company Kaman Corporation to amend the Joint Programmable Fuze (JPF) contract.

The JPF is an electro-mechanical bomb safing and arming device for the Air Force that allows the settings of a weapon to be programmed in flight.

The modified contract provides for new prices and quantities to the production of JPFs.

Kaman Corporation chairman, president and chief executive officer Neal J Keating said that the contract modification award would help the company attain profitability on sales to the Air Force.

The deliveries of the new production are expected to commence in mid-2010.
