The Iranian Army Air Force has conducted a test fire of its Qassed smart bombs during the Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Vellayat III air drills in north-western Iran.

The Fars News Agency reported that an Iranian F-4 bomber fired the 2,000lb missile, with a range of 40km, which hit the designated target.

Air Force Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Chitforoush said that aircraft including the F-5, Sukhoi Su-24 fighter-bombers, MiG-29, C-130 and the indigenous Saeqeh fighter jets test fired air-to-ground missiles during the drills.

The ten-day, four-stage drills also included testing live munitions and domestically built fighter jets.
