Raytheon is planning to integrate the Griffin missile onto the Hawker AT-6 light attack aircraft to provide warfighters with persistent surveillance and low-collateral damage in counterinsurgency and irregular warfare operations.

The Griffin is an air-and-surface launched, precision-guided missile equipped with a semi-active laser seeker that can be quickly integrated onto rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.

The missile enables the warfighter to engage targets by guiding the weapon through the help of GPS coordinates and a graphic interface.

Raytheon Missile Systems Air Warfare Systems vice-president Harry Schulte said, “The integration of precision weapons onto versatile light-attack reconnaissance platforms enables customers to take off-the-shelf capabilities and rapidly field a solution that meets their needs.”

Currently, the missile is under production and will be integrated onto C-130 Harvest Hawk aircraft.
