The UK Royal Air Force’s (RAF) first two Voyager A330 future strategic tanker aircraft (FSTA) are undergoing the final testing phase in MoD Boscombe Down, UK.

This phase, being executed by AirTanker in collaboration with the RAF, involves receiver clearance trials, a series of flight and ground tests that will prove the aircraft’s capability to refuel RAF jets and large aircraft.

The RAF is scheduled to take delivery of the first aircraft by the end of the year.

The FSTA programme is designed to provide the RAF with air-to-air refuelling and air transport services in addition to a full-flight crew and engineer training service, aircraft maintenance, despatch and ground support.
