The Pakistani Air Force (PAF) has achieved its target of producing 26 JF-17 Thunder aircraft at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Karma, a senior PAF official has told the Special Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

The PAF had commenced serial production of the jet fighters in collaboration with China and has achieved completion in a period of two years.

Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Secretary Defence Production Lieutenant General Shahid Iqbal as saying that two P-3 series Orion anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraft had been lost and efforts were being made to replace them.

The PAF intends to induct 250 JF-17s in to its fleet in the coming years.
