Alenia and ST Aerospace to Support RSAF M-346 Trainers

29 June 2011

Alenia Aermacchi has finalised logistics support contracts with ST Aerospace for Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) 12 M-346 trainers.

Under the €170m contract, the support services will include joint management of the M-346 suppliers, after-sales support, spare parts provisioning, repair and overhaul services.

The contract also covers the supply of engineering support, programme / contract management and field support services.

The M-346 is the most advanced / lead-in fighter trainer designed to provide advanced and pre-operational training to pilots to fly new-generation combat aircraft.

The aircraft avionics are based on new-generation military aircraft such as Eurofighter, Gripen, Rafale, F-16, F-18, F-22 and the future joint strike fighter (JSF).

The trainers were sold to RSAF in September 2010 under the fighter wings course programme.
