The Republic of Korea Air Force has introduced its new training fighter jet, the TA-50, for the first time at the air base in Yecheon, North Gyeongsang province.

The introductory-level fighter training jet has been designed for lead-in fighter training missions and light attack roles, and is armed with air-to-air missiles and air-to-ground missiles.

The new aircraft will also allow the pilots to train in combat skills after completing flight training on the unarmed version of the supersonic trainer jet; the T-50.

The Republic of Korea Air Force is also planning to deploy 20 TA-50 aircraft by the first half of next year, according to Arirang News.
