Raytheon has received a contract from the US Air Force (USAF) to deliver over 1,900 KIV-77 mode 4/5 cryptographic units for combat systems force identification.

The $20.7m contract brings the total number of units ordered to date to 3,600.

The KIV-77 is a next-generation cryptographic device that is used by US and coalition forces for the prevention of fratricide.

The company is under a contract that allows for additional orders and deliveries into 2014.
