The US Air Force has successfully completed a series of flight trials of the Raytheon Advanced Combat Radar (RACR), the latest active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, on an Air Force F-16 fighter aircraft at Edwards Air Force Base, California, US.
The RACR, which is designed to equip multiple aircraft with a low-risk, high-performance, affordable solution, could add multi-role capabilities to the F-16 Fighting Falcon, which includes executing a range of air-to-air and air-to-ground modes.

The radar supports a rapid transition to production, leveraging Raytheon’s existing full-rate AESA production lines, and providing significant cost and schedule advantages.
RACR is the product of company-funded development, leveraging Raytheon’s capability in providing AESA radar technology for multiple platforms.
