The Canadian Department of National Defence has awarded a contract to Thales to install four instrument landing systems (ILS) at Canadian Air Force bases in Trenton, Bagotville and Comox.

The ILS 420 system will provide pilots with reliable and accurate landing information particularly in reduced visibility.

The highly adaptable ILS 420 is available in many configurations and can be combined to suit requirements from category I to category III applications.

Thales Canada will be supported by the Thales air traffic management business unit in Shawnee, Kansas, to implement the ILS at Canadian Air Force bases.

Under the contract, Thales will also replace legacy ILS at other bases across the country.
