Lockheed Martin has delivered its advanced F-16IN Super Viper aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The F-16IN Super Viper aircraft has been equipped with an active electronic scanned array (AESA) radar, enhanced high-thrust engine and large weapon inventory to suit the needs of the IAF.

A fifth-generation fighter, the Super Viper aircraft shares similar capabilities with the F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter and the F-22 Raptor, according to ANI.

Lockheed Martin director of advance development programme Michael R Griswold said the customised fighter plane should be seen as a step ahead of the F-16 series as integration into India’s infrastructure and operations.
