The Israeli Air Force (IAF) has decided to install a new system on its Python Apache helicopters that will warn pilots about possible system failures in real-time.

The new system, named Helicopter Health, will send warning signals in real-time about any internal systems problems.

The new tool, which is currently in its final testing phases and is expected to become operational soon, will minimise the risk of helicopter crashes.

The IAF currently has a number of sensors installed on the Python Apache helicopters that can measure temperatures, turbulence and acceleration.

The system, developed by the Israeli LSR company, can process the data and send real-time notifications on the status of the different components.
