National Security Strategy of Poland

Date
16 Mar 2010

Abstract

As part of Nato and the EU it is important for Poland to maintain a level of readiness in its armed forces. This white paper sets out the ways in which the country can improve its military both in terms of strategic defence and as part of the international community.

International organised terrorism is a threat to Poland, and the nation has been undertaking an anti-terrorist campaign as a consequence of Nato or EU-led stabilisation and peacekeeping operations.

Poland is also developing bilateral and multilateral cooperations with other central and Eastern European countries. As part of the collective defence as well as to protect its borders, the country intends to create a modern, well equipped national reserve force to increase the its defence potential.
