Adaptability and Partnership: Issues for a Strategic Defence Review
23 February 2010The Ministry of Defence's strategic defence review takes an in depth look at the future of the UK's armed forces.
It focuses on the new challenges facing the UK, from counterterrorism to direct intervention and disaster relief, and assesses what can and cannot be done in this new age of fiscal discipline. One of the key areas is the assessment of the UK's need for two new aircraft carriers and fast jets.
A major theme of this white paper is how the UK can create defence relations with Europe and beyond and the limitations of its current war doctrine.
