European Future Air Power Systems (EFAPS) up to and Beyond 2035

23 February 2010

With the future of defence spending uncertain, the aircraft sectoral group (ASG), part of the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe, has issued this white paper on European future air power systems (EFAPS) as part of the European Defence Agency's (EDA) European defence technological and industrial base (EDTIB) strategy.

The ASG understands the need for air power systems for different scenarios including the environment beyond 2035. It admits investment is fragmented across Europe but believes any future scenario would involve air power.

The group suggests the development of versatile, adaptable, multirole systems with low support needs that can be integrated seamlessly with legacy systems.
