An Air Force Strategy for the Long Haul

23 August 2010

This report is one in a series comprising the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments's (CSBA) strategy for the long haul intended to inform and shape the next administration's defence strategy review.

It discusses the current state of the US Air Force, and how it can better align its institutional identity and force structure to support the future security environment.

It offers a fiscally constrained menu of recommendations for how realignment might be realised over the next 20 years, with a larger force posture in mind.
