Universal Target Systems Ltd (UTSL) specialises in the design, development and manufacture of air defence training systems for defence forces throughout the world. It is a well established company with over 20 years' experience in supplying aerial targets, surveillance UAVs, launch systems, command and control systems and all equipment involved in air defence training.
UTSL equipment can be used over land and sea to train air defence personal in the use of weapon system operations and the ever-increasing demand for UAVs.
UTSL offers a unique combination of skills, which together with its size and customer commitment enables the company to offer individual services to all their customers needs.
MSAT-500 NG AERIAL TARGET SYSTEM
The MSAT-500 NG aerial target system is a low cost, high-performance aerial target system capable of performing day and night flight training missions against all types of air defence weapon systems. Supplied to international customers and in-service the MSAT-500 NG aerial target system simulates the threat of attacking aircraft, missiles and armed or unarmed drones.
All industry-standard forms of enhancements can also be fitted, including various types of MDI ranging from acoustic and radar types. Operated in full automatic mode the flight is pre-programmed before take off for completely automatic flight within ranges in excess of 100km.
Utilising UTSL's own digital avionics incorporating global positioning service (GPS) and inertial navigation systems (INS) via UTSL's fully integrated avionics suite and advanced tracking command and telemetry station (TCTS), the MSAT-500 NG aerial target system is one of the most capable air defence training aids available.
TARGET ENHANCEMENT SYSTEMS
UTS also develops and manufactures target enhancement systems. These are currently used in various types of air defence aerial target systems.
The UTS thermal enhancement (UTS-TE) enables both ground-to-air and air-to-air weapons and tracking systems to be tested against free-flying and towed aerial targets where a heat temperature / output of a known value is required.
The UTSL thermal enhancement is used in several European and Middle East countries. Successful naval missile firings and extensive evaluation program has proved the UTS-TE as an effective enhancement against a thermal target requirement with engagements at 21km.
MISSILE VMDI TRACKING SYSTEMS VMDI
UTSL manufactures missile tracking systems to allow visual miss distance indication (VDMI) when a SAM is being fired at any target. This highly accurate optical tracking system gives extremely precise trajectory information to the weapon and weapon operator instructors.
TACTICAL MISSION TRAINING AND PLANNING
UTSL can supply tactical training and planning media to allow clear and repeatable training to be given to students and allow tactical mission planning.
GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT
Ground support equipment (GSE) such as catapult launchers, target command and control units and spares to cover many different types of in-service targets can be supplied.
AERIAL TARGET SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
UTSL maintain and repair not only their own systems but can supply spare parts for, and maintain and operate, other aerial target systems.
CUSTOMISED AERIAL TARGET SYSTEMS
UTSL supplies aerial target services to specific customer’s requirements.
OPERATOR TRAINING AND TARGET SYSTEM HIRE
UTSL offers a comprehensive support package including on-site operator training worldwide and hire of aerial target systems so weapon manufacturers can evaluate their own products. UTSL can design and manufacture one-off systems for specific and individual customer requirements.
VIGILANT UAV SYSTEM
The Vigilant UAV system is a sophisticated information gathering tool. Operational in most conditions and over both land and sea, VILGILANT can be utilised to collect various different forms of data via its state-of-the-art sensors
Operated in full automatic mode the flight is pre programmed before take off for completely autonomous flight out to ranges in excess of 100km. Utilising UTSL's own digital flight control system incorporating Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) for navigation and using the Tracking Command and Telemetry Station (TCTS) the VIGILANT UAV is one of the most capable information gathering systems available.
The system can be reliably deployed and is configured for fully automatic operations in both day and night time conditions.
