Robonic Ltd of Tampere, Finland, has signed a contract to deliver the fourth of the new series of launchers to EADS Deutschland GmbH.
The launcher will be delivered in April of 2006. Three previous launchers see service in various parts of the world presently.
The launchers are a part of EADS' target services a continuously growing part of the company's operations.
"The delivery of the fourth launcher is a clear sign of trust from EADS towards our ability to produce quality launchers that meet the requirements set by the customers EADS services. We have been working in close cooperation to develop a launcher type that can launch the various air vehicles that EADS has in its inventory with minimal delay", said Juha Moisio, Managing Director of Robonic Ltd.
"One of the keys in the launcher is its large launch envelope both in speed and mass. This enables it to be used in operations where several types of UAV's would need to be launched. The launcher is designed for rapid deployment and rapid reload. Additionally one of the design criteria was that the launcher would fit into a 20 foot sea container and is air transportable", continues Juha Moisio.
The launcher is the same as offered to the UK for the CATS programme and thus is designed to accommodate multiple requirements of the customer.
Robonic is offering the same design concept and similar systems to other UAV manufacturers and suppliers.
