L-3 Communications recently announced that it has been awarded a contract option from the US Navy to continue to provide aircraft contractor logistics support (CLS) for a fleet of 22 C-9 aircraft.

L-3 is responsible for overall program management for C-9 CLS, encompassing global flight operations support for aircraft, engines, supply, aircraft depot, engine depot and on-site storeroom support at six US Navy, US Marine Corps and US Air Force installations. L-3’s C-9 CLS team includes Goodrich Corporation’s Aviation Technical Services division, Pacific Gas Turbine Center and Patriot Aviation Services.

“Our team remains committed to supporting C-9 requirements that will enable the fleet to meet its full range of passenger transport, cargo transport and special mission operations,” said David Williams, Vice President of Training Services at L-3 Link Simulation and Training.

In support of the C-9 fleet, L-3 maintains site support staff at six locations, including Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, WA; NAS Oceana, VA; NAS Atlanta, GA; NAS Willow Grove, PA; Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC; and Scott Air Force Base, IL.
