Unique DO-178B-qualifiable VAPS QCG software chosen to develop and deploy safety-critical avionics display graphics

MONTRÉAL – Presagis (TSX: EGY), a leading provider of solutions for the development of high-end visualization and simulation applications, today announced that CMC Electronics has selected Presagis’s VAPS® QCG (Qualifiable Code Generator) software tool suite to efficiently prototype, test, and deploy integrated cockpit avionics solutions for a military aircraft program.

“Reliability is paramount in the avionics industry, and Presagis has earned our confidence with a flexible, proven product and their unfailing commitment to aircraft safety and customer support,” said Patrick Champagne, Vice President of Engineering, CMC Electronics. “We are confident that VAPS QCG will save significant time and cost by automating the development and certification for our avionics projects.”

CMC Electronics chose Presagis for its VAPS QCG (Qualifiable Code Generator) product – the only qualifiable graphics development and automatic code generation tool to comply with DO-178B Level A certification standards. DO-178B provides guidelines for the production of safety-critical airborne systems software. The standards, which are published by the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA, Inc.) and mandated by Transport Canada, are equivalent to the requirements enforced by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“Our VAPS QCG product, which is being used on several aircraft programs today such as the SuperPuma, Tiger, and Eurofighter Typhoon, represents the highest level of safety critical engineering at Presagis,” said Patrice Commune, Chief Executive Officer of Presagis. “Presagis has a 20-year history of supporting high end customers in their pursuit of excellence, and we’re pleased CMC Electronics has selected our premium product to elevate the standard of aircraft safety. ”
