Presagis (TSX: EGY), a leading provider of solutions for the development of high-end visualisation and simulation applications, today announced that Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training and Support ('Lockheed Martin') have selected Presagis’ AI.implant to bring enhanced realism and intelligence to their modelling, simulation and mission rehearsal tools for military and civilian applications.
Originally designed for the games and entertainment industries to rapidly create characters with realistic intelligent behaviours, AI.implant will enable Lockheed Martin to develop life-like scenarios for the Virtual Combat Convoy Trainer (VCCT) including simulated human and crowd activities.
The Lockheed Martin VCCT is used by the US Army, US Marine Corps and US Air Force and was developed to improve a convoy crew's ability to identify and react to threats in the contemporary operating environment. By integrating and customising the AI.implant technology, Lockheed Martin developers will be able to better create variable and complex AI (Artificial Intelligence) behaviours for a wide range of scenarios, involving realistic, real-time character and crowd behaviours such as urban milling, navigation, panicking and rioting.
"The proper training and preparation of military personnel has become significantly more complex in light of urban military operations, and, as a result, simulation technology must evolve," said Patrice Commune, president and chief executive officer of Presagis. "Lockheed Martin plays an instrumental role in deploying high-end simulation technology for programs developed across the corporation, and we see their selection of AI.implant as a validation of the relevance and importance of our simulation vision.
"Through working with industry leaders like LM STS, Presagis will continue to develop the most powerful tools for next-generation simulation and training."
