Presagis Announces Powerful Suite of Simulation Tools at I / ITSEC 2006

05 December 2006 12:13

Presagis (TSX: EGY), a leading provider of solutions for the development of high-end visualisation and simulation applications, today announced a significant upgrade to its STAGE family of simulation software. With a strong focus on consolidating simulation technology into a single, unified toolset, STAGE Scenario 5.4, Helisim 6.0 and Flightsim 10.0 provide simulation developers with an unmatched range of functionality out-of-the-box.

The STAGE product update plays a key role in Presagis' Adaptable Intelligent Modeling and Simulation (AIMS) strategy. Comprised of proprietary and partner technologies, AIMS allows customers in the military simulation and training industry to quickly and cost-effectively create adaptable simulation applications with greater immersive reality, intelligence, and real-time adaptability.

"Increasingly, our customers need to create sophisticated, simulated urban command and control scenarios, as well as highly accurate simulations for deployment strategies in conflict zones," said Robert Kopersiewich, director of product management and business development at Presagis.

"The latest version of STAGE addresses this need by expanding the range of tools and features, such as support for UAVs, on-the-fly terrain creation, and behavioural simulation. We have seen growing momentum behind our new product strategy and have received a commitment from a major European defence contractor who will move ahead with this system in the New Year."

A key to the AIMS strategy is core partner technologies from Diamond Visionics, Ægis Technologies Group and Boston Dynamics. These technologies all work together out-of-the-box and can be easily reconfigured to answer the needs of any simulation production.

From Diamond Visionics, Presagis is introducing a new high-quality visual system based on its groundbreaking GenesisRT product. This terrain creation and image generator brings STAGE users unmatched visual-accuracy and tight correlation between terrain services. The system also includes a tactical display and 3D viewer, as well as premier visual effects including the GenesisRT 'wave model' for marine simulations.

STAGE also comes bundled with several high-fidelity 3D models from Ægis Technologies Group that integrate with simulations through a simple user interface. The new version also features Boston Dynamics' DI-Guy human modelling software, via a new plug-in which allows users to populate their simulations easily.

In addition, the upgrade offers several market-driven features. Greater support for the Common Image Generator interface (CIGI) is available throughout the entire STAGE suite, which means STAGE can easily integrate with any CIGI-based visual system currently deployed or in development. STAGE Scenario 5.4 also includes expanded support for the modelling and deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV).

Moreover, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now available to STAGE users with the integration of AI.implant into STAGE Scenario 4.5. This industry first gives simulation developers the flexibility to selectively control certain entities in a simulation through either the core Computer Generated Forces (CGF) capability or the advanced artificial intelligence functions provided by AI.implant. By combining both scripted and dynamic AI-powered actions, users will be able to achieve a level of accuracy unseen in Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) simulations.

The new STAGE product suite will be on display at the Interservice / Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I / ITSEC), Presagis booth 849, from December the 4th to the 7th, 2006.
