SMi - Defence Conferences and Interactive Workshops

SMi's defence conferences and interactive workshops provide the perfect platform for members of the aviation industry to discuss and explore the latest techniques and technologies to improve the effectiveness of aerial military operations.

The wide range of conferences and workshops organised by SMi also provide an excellent opportunity to enhance your company's profile in the market. This can be easily achieved by networking with some of the leading experts and decision-makers within the industry, who are present at our events.

THE FUTURE OF UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES

The two-day event entitled 'The Future of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles' will be held in London on the 27th and 28th of November 2006.

The conference will discuss and provide the precise and innovative military requirements that Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) need to possess, by examining the very latest and detailed trends in modern military operations. These theories will be demonstrated in practice at the conference by referring to case studies from international programmes.

The event will also allow attendees to raise their own individual concerns about aerial military operations.

HALF DAY POST-CONFERENCE INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP

A UAV Positioning, Orientation and Collaborative Behaviour post-conference interactive workshop, in association with the University of Nottingham and the Defence Academy, will be held on the 29th of November 2006 in central London.

MILITARY AIRLIFT AND RAPID REACTION OPERATIONS

On the 6th and 7th of December 2006, our annual conference on military airlift and rapid reaction operations will be held at Le Palace Crowne Plaza Hotel in Brussels.

The event will primarily address the necessity of inherent rapid force mobility, which has acquired an increasingly important role on both strategic and tactical levels in recent times.

The conference will provide a forum for military officials to outline their efforts for interoperability within coalition rapid responses. It will also provide an update on the latest key technologies for airlifting and rapid reaction operations, and evaluate the specific requirements for strategic airlift that individual countries require.

In addition, this event will discuss the latest trends in transforming air mobility to meet the challenges of the future environment.
