Controp's CEDAR Automatic Intruder Detection System Attracting International Acclaim as the Need for Ground Surveillance Is Heightened
21 April 2002 09:48
Innovation, quality, cost effectiveness and state-of-the-art Electro Optics characterizes the fine surveillance and reconnaissance systems displayed by CONTROP Precision Technologies Ltd. at the recent Asian Aerospace 2002 in Singapore. First-hand experience in the “war against terrorism” helped to place CONTROP products on center stage, alongside other world leaders in security and defense, as the company displayed innovative solutions for airborne, maritime and ground surveillance. The changing international scene and growing need for intruder detection capability was key to CONTROP‘s success at this important Asian trade show.
CONTROP’s displays at the Asian Aerospace 2002 included the
DSP-1 Dual Sensor Stabilized Payload, a high resolution, high performance Dual Sensor Stabilized Payload. The DSP-1 is a compact Day/Night observation system especially configured for use on UAV’s, light reconnaissance aircraft, and helicopters. Its four-gimbal system is gyro-stabilized in azimuth and elevation allowing the EO Sensors’ lines of sight to be aimed and maintained stabilized. The system uses two camera channels: InSb detector Thermal Imaging channel with continuous x22.5 zoom lens and a high resolution color CCD Daylight channel with a x20 zoom lens. The DSP-1 is easily integrated onto a wide variety of carrying vehicles through a flexible configuration suitable to any specific application.
Alongside the DSP-1 was the recently launched CEDAR Compact Electro-Optical Intruder Detection System, a highly sophisticated electro-optical Day/Night Panoramic Intruder Detection System, which automatically detects intruders in a wide panoramic view in real time. The scan sector can be selected in both azimuth and elevation axes, whereby the wide dynamic range is provided by an accurate motorized Pan and Tilt unit. The CEDAR operates in a panoramic scan mode for intruder detection or in observation mode with live video for intruder recognition and identification. The system features multiple target detection and is integrated with an Automatic Video Tracker (AVT).
This display duo at the recent air show attracted hundreds of passers-by as they stopped at the CONTROP booth to view the CEDAR System’s expertise as it scanned the aisles and displayed people as they proceeded from booth to booth. As a panoramic automatic intruder detection system the CEDAR’s FLIR camera detects intruders by day and by night, and is used for perimeter security, coastal surveillance, ground troops security, border control and more.
